Qualifications

  • Certification in Speech-Language Pathology by ASHA within one year of hire.
  • Licensure as a Speech Pathologist by New York State within one year of hire.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inpatient care including bedside dysphagia evaluations.
  • Perform speech and language assessments and treatments.
  • Manage trach/Passy-Muir valve.

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) – Days

Join NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital's compassionate rehab team, where you will help patients and their families gain independence and live fulfilling lives. This full-time role involves inpatient care including bedside dysphagia evaluations, FEES, MBS studies, trach/Passy-Muir valve management, and speech and language assessments and treatments.

The position is from 8:30am to 4:30pm, with at least 2 weekend commitments per month.

Preferred Criteria

  • Competency with MBSS and/or FEES
  • Specialized training in dysphagia and communication evaluations and treatments

Required Criteria

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certification in Speech-Language Pathology by ASHA within one year of hire
  • Licensure as a Speech Pathologist by New York State within one year of hire
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
