CommuniCare Rehab, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, has a full-time opening for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at Laurelwood Healthcare Center. Our therapists are In-House Team Members. This is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact with our residents through therapy. Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's and/or a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Hold a valid or pending State Speech-Language Pathology License.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate, review, and screen patients'/residents' medical charts, conduct evaluations under physician order, and develop treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
  • Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive problems; administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests.
  • Instruct residents, families, and caregivers on monitoring speech, practicing new skills, and implementing diet modifications for safe swallowing.
  • Attend or lead interdisciplinary meetings to relay clinical findings and make recommendations, and participate in family meetings and education.
