United Staff Group is seeking a TK-8 Speech-Language Pathologist to maximize student communication, functional language, and academic integration in a small, hands-on special needs school setting.
The role requires evaluating speech and literacy skills, designing IEP-driven goals, and delivering targeted therapy with AAC support. Collaboration with teachers and training for families are essential components of the position.
Setting: Small, hands-on special needs school environment
Goal: Maximize student communication competence, functional language, and academic integration.
Conduct comprehensive formal and informal evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and literacy skills.
Design data-driven, evidence-based Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Establish functional, measurable communication goals tailored to each student.
Provide direct individual and small-group therapy sessions customized to students.
Implement Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) systems and assistive technologies for non-verbal or severely speech-impaired students.
Address articulation, phonology, fluency (stuttering), and social pragmatic language delays.
Work directly inside a small-school framework to coordinate closely with special education teachers.
Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP conferences.
Train parents and classroom staff on carryover strategies to use communication tools throughout the daily routine.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Valid state licensure and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (or local governing equivalent).
Experience or specialized training in K-12 special needs, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and AAC implementation
