Job summary

Fiberhire is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Swansea, MA to join our rehabilitation team. You will evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in patients and residents, following established plans and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires MA licensure (or eligibility), a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, and CCC-SLP with experience in healthcare settings.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
  • Massachusetts SLP license or eligibility is required.
  • ASHA CCC-SLP certification is preferred or required as applicable.
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred or required as applicable.
  • Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
  • Excellent documentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evaluations.
  • Provide therapy per established plans for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing.
  • Monitor progress and adjust treatments as needed.

Position Overview

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and residents?

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our rehabilitation team in Swansea, MA. The SLP will provide comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy to patients while working closely with the interdisciplinary care team to support improved communication, safety, independence, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and clinical evaluations.

  • Provide speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy in accordance with established treatment plans.

  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment approaches as clinically appropriate.

  • Provide dysphagia assessment and treatment, including appropriate swallowing strategies and interventions.

  • Educate patients, families, caregivers, and staff regarding communication strategies, swallowing safety, and therapeutic techniques.

  • Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Communicate changes in patient condition and progress with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

  • Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate.

  • Promote patient safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life.

  • Follow all applicable federal, state, and facility regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional standards of practice.

  • Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements
  • Current and valid Massachusetts Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license.

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred or required as applicable.

  • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required as applicable.

  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, long‑term care, rehabilitation, or a healthcare setting preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.

  • Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Compassionate and patient‑centered approach to care.

  • Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.

  • Excellent documentation and record‑keeping skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Strong clinical judgment, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Must be able to pass required background and employment checks.
