Job summary

LEARN Academy is seeking onsite Speech-Language Pathologists for the 2026-2027 school year to support students with communication needs in educational settings.

You will evaluate, plan, and implement therapy aligned with IEP goals, collaborating with teachers, families, and related service providers. The role emphasizes evidence-based interventions and interdisciplinary teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited program.
  • Pass the Praxis Examination in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Maintain license per ASHA requirements.
  • Current AZ licensure or willing to obtain.
  • Current AZ DOE certification or willing to obtain.
  • Current AZ IVP Fingerprint card or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students’ communication abilities (articulation, fluency, voice, expressive/receptive language).
  • Develop and implement speech-language therapy plans aligned with IEP goals and educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate speech-language strategies into the curriculum.
  • Contribute to IEP process with progress insights and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
  • Provide expertise in assistive technology and communication strategies for curriculum access.
  • Coordinate with the special education team to align services with the least restrictive environment (LRE).
  • Mentor or supervise assistants or students in the SLP community; provide trainings to staff.

Education

Responsibilities

Essential Job Responsibilities



  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' communication abilities in areas such as articulation, fluency, voice, and expressive and receptive language.

  • Develop and implement speech and language therapy intervention plans that align with students' IEP goals and educational needs.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate speech and language strategies into the educational curriculum and provide consultative services.

  • Contribute to the IEP process by providing insights on student progress and recommending appropriate interventions.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student assessments, interventions, and progress.

  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in school-based speech and language therapy.

  • Provide expertise in assistive technology and communication strategies to support student access to the curriculum.

  • Collaborate with the special education team to ensure occupational speech and language therapy services align with the least restrictive environment (LRE) principle.

  • Mentor and/or supervise assistants or students in the speech and language therapy community.

  • Provide trainings to instructional and related service staff.
