Paradigm at Faith Memorial has an amazing opportunity for a Full-Time In-House Speech Language Pathologist/Clinical Fellow in Pasadena, TX.

Job Summary: The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will diagnose, plan, and treat speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive disorders. The SLP will also document treatments, changes in condition, and other relevant information.

Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate residents' conditions related to swallowing or cognitive deficits.
  2. Assist residents in achieving goals to improve cognition or swallowing.
  3. Provide education to residents and caregivers.
  4. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance independence and functioning.
  5. Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
  6. Train and educate clients, families, caregivers, and professionals as a subject matter expert.
  7. Coordinate with other professionals for diagnostic swallowing procedures (MBSS, FEES) as ordered.
  8. Demonstrate competent technical skills according to current standards of practice.
  9. Communicate changes in residents' conditions.
  10. Maintain accurate billing records and clinical documentation.
  11. Respond promptly to family requests and concerns.
  12. Collaborate with Restorative Nursing and other care staff for training.
  13. Ensure resident safety, preventing abuse or neglect.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and data safeguards.
  15. Comply with all legal and professional requirements.

Qualifications

Skills:
