Job description

Speech-Language Pathologist Job in North Wilkesboro, NC

Carolina Prime Physical Therapy is hiring for a Speech-Language Pathologist job in North Wilkesboro, NC, and we are looking for a compassionate, motivated clinician to join our growing outpatient team. You will help build and expand our pediatric speech program while working in a collaborative environment alongside PT and OT. We want an SLP who values individualized care, strong family communication, clinical autonomy, and professional growth.

Build and Expand Our Pediatric Speech Program

This position offers a real opportunity to shape how speech therapy grows at Carolina Prime. Depending on your experience and specialty training, your treatment may include articulation, language disorders, developmental delays, apraxia, fluency, social communication, and cognitive-communication, along with feeding and swallowing when you are appropriately trained.

You will evaluate, diagnose, and treat children and adults, create individualized plans of care, and work closely with families, caregivers, physicians, and other rehabilitation professionals. Teaching families home programs and carryover strategies is part of lasting progress, and you will also help grow our speech therapy services through community outreach, referral relationships, and program development.

Autonomy, Collaboration, and Room to Develop

Working alongside PT and OT means you have colleagues to collaborate with, along with the clinical autonomy to practice with your own judgment. We are open to motivated clinicians who demonstrate strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a desire to keep developing professionally, including strong candidates who are completing their Clinical Fellowship. Pediatric or outpatient experience is preferred, and so is CCC-SLP certification.

As our practice grows, so do the opportunities available to our team. Employees interested in leadership, program development, specialty care, or mentorship can take on greater responsibility and help shape programs, because we believe the best opportunities come from giving talented people the support and freedom to develop their strengths.

A Close-Knit Practice With Clear Values

We value teamwork, growth, positivity, excellence, and relationships, and we want people who support one another, communicate well, bring a positive attitude to work, and care about giving every patient an exceptional experience. Our goal is to keep the feel of a close-knit private practice while continuing to grow and create new opportunities for our employees.

You may be a great fit if you care deeply about your patients and the quality of care you provide, enjoy being part of a collaborative team, and are motivated to keep learning and improving. A positive, professional attitude matters here, as do strong relationships with patients and coworkers. If you want room to grow professionally, have ideas and want to work somewhere that will listen to them, and would rather be part of a growing organization than simply fill a position, we would like to meet you.

Compensation:

  • Full-time position
  • Base salary range of $85,000 to $105,000 per year

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program
  • Current North Carolina Speech-Language Pathology license, or eligibility to obtain one
  • CCC-SLP certification preferred, though strong candidates completing their Clinical Fellowship may also be considered
  • Pediatric or outpatient experience preferred, but motivated clinicians with strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a desire to keep developing professionally are welcome

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat children and adults with speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing-related needs within your scope of training and experience.
  • Complete comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Provide evidence-based treatment, track patient progress, and update goals as appropriate.
  • Work closely with patients, families, caregivers, physicians, and other rehabilitation professionals to coordinate care and improve functional outcomes.
  • Educate families on home programs and carryover strategies.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary communication.
  • Help grow Carolina Prime’s speech therapy services through community outreach, referral relationships, and program development.
  • Depending on experience and specialty training, treat articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language delays, childhood apraxia of speech, fluency disorders, social communication, cognitive-communication deficits, voice disorders, and feeding or swallowing concerns.

Skills:

  • Compassionate, organized, and dependable, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients and families.
  • Strong evaluation and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to create engaging, individualized treatment sessions.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with PTs, OTs, physicians, caregivers, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Strong time-management skills, attention to documentation, adaptability, and a positive team-oriented attitude.
  • Interest in professional growth, specialty development, leadership, and helping build new programs within Carolina Prime Physical Therapy.

Benefits:
