Job summary

Manhattan Day School seeks a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Special Education team for 2026-2027. The role focuses on students with language-based learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder within a multidisciplinary educational environment.

You will provide therapy, develop IEP-aligned plans, and collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student success. Strong communicators with school experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• New York State license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or eligibility).
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred; CF candidates encouraged to apply.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience with school-aged children.
• Knowledge of language-based learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group speech-language therapy to students in Special Education programs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, OTs, psychologists, social workers, and families to support student success.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to educational planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and therapy records.
• Support students in developing communication, language, social interaction, and academic readiness skills.

As a member of our team, you will:

• Provide individual and small-group speech-language therapy to students enrolled in our Special Education programs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students' IEP goals.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, and families to support student success.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to educational planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and therapy records.
• Support students in developing communication, language, social interaction, and academic readiness skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• New York State license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or eligibility for licensure).
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; strong Clinical Fellowship candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience working with school-aged children.
• Knowledge of language-based learning disabilities and familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
