Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in McKinney, TX seeks an inpatient Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for acute care, PRN with weekend availability. Weekday rate is $60/hr; weekend rate is $66/hr. Join an interdisciplinary team delivering evaluations, treatment, and education in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Licensed SLP with CCC and BLS is required; acute care experience preferred. Per diem position; hospital-based duties and documentation in EMR.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure or eligibility to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• CCC in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA or eligibility for certification.
• BLS certification or completion within 90 days of employment.
• Acute care experience of at least 1 year.
• MBSS competency preferred.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations, develop treatment plans and deliver skilled interventions for patients in medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry and specialty units.
• Participate in interdisciplinary discussions and make recommendations regarding NPO status, diet levels and instrumental assessments.
• Document timely and accurately in the EMR per hospital and regulatory standards.
• Complete patient/family and staff education related to communication, cognition and swallowing.
• Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.

We are seeking a compassionate and driven clinician to join our acute care team. This role is ideal for therapists who enjoy fast-paced environments, critical thinking and daily collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans and deliver skilled interventions for patients in medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry and specialty units
• Participate in interdisciplinary discussions and make recommendations regarding NPO status, diet levels and instrumental assessments
• Document timely and accurately in the electronic medical record per hospital and regulatory standards
• Completing patient/family and staff education related to communication, cognition and swallowing, as appropriate
• Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives within our team

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association or eligibility for Certification pending professional experience required.
• Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.
• Acute care experience, minimum one year required
• Competency with MBSS, strongly preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills
