Job description

Role Overview:

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides direct speech therapy rehabilitation to patients in a skilled nursing facility setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, establish, and modify functional treatment goals; implement therapy plans; chart accurately; utilize therapy software; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams; and oversee care provided by SLP Clinical Fellows (CCCs).

Patient Population & Setting:

Serve a diverse group of patients with orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and post-acute needs, focusing on long-term care and short-term rehabilitation within a supportive, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Must have a graduate degree in speech therapy (MS or MA), be ASHA certified or eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year, and hold current state licensure. New graduates are welcome. CPR certification is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills are essential.

Key Duties & Competencies:

Establish measurable goals, evaluate patient progress, document therapy activities, demonstrate professionalism, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to legal and organizational policies. Demonstrate good body mechanics, good judgment, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Requirements:

Participate in community health activities, assist in patient evacuation when necessary, and maintain dependable attendance with a positive attitude.
