Job summary

The Gardens Health and Rehab in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered and we support a full-time/PRN schedule.

You will assess and treat speech, language, swallowing and cognitive impairments, develop individualized plans, and educate patients and families. Current state licensure and CPR certification are required; SNF experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current Speech Language Pathologist License in current state.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • At least 3 years of Skilled Nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Creating, administering, and organizing individualized plans of treatment for patients.
  • Instructing clients in techniques for more effective communication, including sign language, lip reading and voice improvement.
  • Educating patients and family members about communication techniques and strategies to cope with or to avoid misunderstandings.
  • Communicating with the dietary department regarding rehabilitation lunches for patients with swallow dysfunctions.

Speech Language Pathologist Position Description

The Speech Pathologist is responsible for facilitating the recovery of speech, language, swallowing and cognitive function for the patients who come through our facility.

Requirements of the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • Current Speech Language Pathologist License in current state.
