Job summary

Kindred Hospital Dayton is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our PRN team. You will evaluate and treat swallowing and speech-language needs, document assessments, and develop patient-centered plans of care with involvement from patients and families.

The role includes patient education, discharge planning, and supervision of clinical fellows and students, contributing to a supportive care environment in Dayton, OH.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • Licensed Speech Therapist; current state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and treats swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.
  • Documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition.
  • Designs and implements a plan of care with patient and family involvement.
  • Educates patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
  • Plans or assists with discharge from therapy services.
  • Supervises clinical fellows, students, and support personnel.

How you'll contribute
  • Evaluates and treats patient populations for swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.

  • Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.

  • Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.

  • Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.

  • Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.

  • Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
