Are you a highly skilled, compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) looking for a Casual/PRN/Per Diem position and the opportunity to improve the quality of life of residents at a small rehab and nursing facility? Abington Manor has the perfect opportunity for YOU!
Responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP):
- The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will screen, examine and evaluate residents, including history, systems review, applications of appropriate tests and measures and interprets findings in order to establish a diagnosis, identify impairments, determine the predicted level of improvement and time required to achieve it, identify precautions and design a plan of care.
- Develops appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with the resident and caregivers, implements the treatment plan and completes all related documentation required for those services.
- Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will attend and contributes to resident care, staff conferences and other related meetings.
- Consults with and makes referrals to other disciplines, agencies in order to address the comprehensive needs of the resident.
- Provide exception customer service: ensures that resident and families receive the highest quality of service in caring and compassionate environment.
- Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for Clinical Programming.
- Responsible for maintaining efficiency standards.
Requirements of the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP):
- Must possess, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathologist from an accredited college or university.
- Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in this state
- Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a therapist capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.
- Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices.
- Must be knowledgeable of Speech Language Pathologist procedures
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of therapy areas.
- Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition
- Must obtain and maintain GFY/CCC certification from the American Speech Language Hearing Association
- Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.
