Job summary

Light Street Special Education Solutions, a division of LEARN Academy, seeks a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist on-site in Los Angeles, CA to support students with communication needs within a collaborative team.

You will conduct evaluations, develop and implement IEP-aligned treatment plans, and provide trainings to staff, with licensure in CA and Praxis success as requirements.

Compensation includes competitive W2 hourly pay, benefits, 401(k), PTO, and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Pass the Praxis Examination in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Maintain license per ASHA requirements.
  • Current CA Licensure and COC or CTC (or willing to obtain).
  • Current negative TB skin test or risk assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' communication abilities across articulation, fluency, voice, and expressive/receptive language.
  • Develop and implement speech-language therapy intervention plans aligned with IEP goals and educational needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate speech and language strategies into the curriculum and provide consultative services.
  • Contribute to the IEP process by providing insights on student progress and recommending interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student assessments, interventions, and progress.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development to stay current with best practices in school-based speech-language therapy.
  • Provide expertise in assistive technology and communication strategies to support student access to the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with the special education team to ensure therapies align with Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
  • Mentor and/or supervise assistants or students in the speech-language therapy community and provide trainings to staff.

Responsibilities

As a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist at Light Street Special Education Solutions, a division of LEARN Academy, you play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of comprehensive special education services to children with communication needs. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, you implement evidence-based interventions that promote students' communication skills and success in their educational environment.

Your responsibilities span across various school settings, interacting with teachers, administrators, parents, and other therapy professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student care. You evaluate students' communication needs, develop and implement treatment plans, and monitor progress towards individualized education program (IEP) goals.

Essential Job Responsibilities
