Job summary

Light Street Special Education Solutions, a division of LEARN Academy, is hiring a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist in Los Angeles, California. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive SLP services within a multidisciplinary school setting, collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to support students' communication needs and IEP goals.

You will conduct evaluations, develop and implement therapy plans, monitor progress, and contribute to team meetings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Pass the Praxis Examination in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Maintain license per ASHA requirements.
• Current CA Licensure and COC or CTC (or willing to obtain).
• Current negative TB skin test or risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' communication abilities (articulation, fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language).
• Develop and implement speech-language therapy plans aligned with IEP goals.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate strategies into curriculum and provide consultative services.
• Contribute to IEP process by sharing progress and recommending interventions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions and progress.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
• Provide expertise in assistive technology and communication strategies.
• Align speech-language services with Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
• Mentor and supervise assistants or students in the field.
• Provide trainings to instructional and related staff.
