Job summary

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders in home and community settings on the Central Coast of California.

You will re-assess plans, participate in staff and family conferences, and provide discharge evaluations with home safety recommendations. The role emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and real-world therapy delivery.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program.
• Current SLP licensure in practicing states.
• CPR certification required.
• At least one year of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques for neurological injuries preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Regularly re‑assess treatment plans, attend staffing meetings, and participate in family conferences.
• Perform discharge evaluations and provide home/community safety recommendations and resources.
• Communicate patients’ needs and progress to the treatment team, physicians, and family members.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure collaboration and optimal patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Regularly re‑assess the effectiveness of treatment plans, attend staffing meetings, and participate in family conferences.
• Perform discharge evaluations, make appropriate recommendations for home and community safety, and provide referral and education resources.
• Communicate patients’ needs and progress to the treatment team, physicians, service recipients, and family members.
• Communicate with other disciplines to ensure collaboration, coordination of care, and enhanced patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program.
• Valid Speech Language Pathology license in the state(s) of practice.
• Current CPR Certification in accordance with state regulations.
• At least one year’s work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological injury preferred.
• Effective and professional communication in verbal and written interactions.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform patient moving, lifting, or transferring tasks, which may involve lifting up to 100 pounds while following safety procedures.
• Requires fine motor skills, visual acuity, and the ability to walk or stand for extended periods.
• Physical requirements include pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and frequent positioning.
• A health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on local and state regulations.
