Job summary

Rehab Without Walls® Neuro Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist in California. You will work in real-world environments helping clients with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and other neurological conditions regain independence through personalized therapy.

The role offers a flexible schedule, paid hourly, with opportunities for educational growth and no weekend or holiday work. Ideal candidates hold a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology and a valid state license.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Current CPR certification in accordance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients.
• Reassess treatment plans and attend meetings.
• Perform discharge evaluations and make recommendations.
• Communicate with treatment team and families.

Who we are looking for

• Experienced SLP, enthusiastic about providing functional rehabilitation wherever life happens, including home, school, work, or community settings.
• Ready to treat patients beyond a staged environment into real life experiences such as cooking in their kitchen, navigating grocery stores, restaurants, outdoor activities, and workplaces.
• Thrives in an autonomous setting and values being part of a collaborative team of dynamic therapists.
• Must be willing to work in San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande, Santa Maria, Templeton and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Regularly reassess the effectiveness of treatment plans and attend staffing meetings and family conferences.
• Perform discharge evaluations, make appropriate recommendations for home and community safety, and provide referral and education resources.
• Communicate patient needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, client, and family members.
• Communicate with other disciplines to ensure collaboration, coordination of care, and enhanced patient outcomes.

What you will need

• Minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program.
• Valid Speech Language Pathology license in the state(s) of practice.
• Current CPR certification in accordance with state regulations.
• Minimum one year’s work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological injury preferred.
• Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Capability to lift up to 100 pounds following safety procedures while moving, lifting, or transferring patients.
• Fine motor skills, visual acuity, and the ability to walk, stand, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and position frequently.
• May be required to complete a health screen or examination prior to assignment and periodically thereafter to verify physical capability with or without reasonable accommodations.

Salary Range

USD $60.00 - $65.00 per year
