Job summary

Maryland Works, Inc. in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide AAC/AT/SLP therapy and training across Central Maryland.

You will travel to multiple locations, manage cases, and document progress while collaborating with a licensed SLP and other professionals.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an ASHA-accredited program.
  • Active state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Advanced knowledge of AAC and AT devices.
  • Excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and MVR with 2 or fewer points.
  • Experience with AAC/AT service provision preferred.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs and travel across Central Maryland.

Responsibilities

  • Provide AT setup and training in access, cognitive, and low-vision domains.
  • Provide AAC training services based on plans by a licensed SLP.
  • Troubleshoot AAC/AT tools and solutions.
  • Prepare training materials and resources.
  • Prepare required written reports.
  • Complete Case Management including scheduling and billing.
  • Maintain training logs documenting client progress.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Day travel to Montgomery, Frederick, Washington, Carroll, Garrett, and Baltimore with reimbursement.

Unique Opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC), Assistive Technology (AT), and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) therapy and training services to individuals with a variety of disabilities. Candidates must be willing and able to drive to different locations throughout Central Maryland and should be flexible with their schedule, caseload, and ability to work easily with others.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide AT Setup and Training in the areas of physical access, cognitive, and low vision.
  • Provide AAC training services for individuals with disabilities based on plans developed by a licensed speech-language pathologist.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and problem solving relative to AAC and AT tools.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of training materials and resources.
  • Prepare written reports as required.
  • Complete Case Management, including scheduling, billing, and service provision.
  • Maintain accurate training logs with relevant data to document client progress.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development related to the field.
  • Day travel to the following counties: Montgomery, Frederick, Washington, Carroll, Garrett, and Baltimore with travel reimbursement provided.
Requirements
  • Hold a Master's Degree from ASHA accredited university
  • Must have completed all clinical requirements for Speech-Language Pathologist, as defined by the Maryland Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Have active state-level licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLPA)
  • Advanced knowledge of AAC and AT devices
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Experience with AAC/AT service provision preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Motor Vehicle Record with 2 or less points
  • Ability to lift 25 Lbs. unassisted
  • Audio-visual acuity to be able to read small print and perform perceptual diagnostic assessments. Ability to reach, stoop, crouch, push, walk, stand, and lift 25 pounds.
  • Salary Range for this opportunity is $75,000 to $85,000 Annually
