Good Samaritan in Wagner, SD is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders across post-acute and long-term care environments.
Responsibilities include creating individualized treatment plans, delivering therapy, documenting progress, and coordinating with care teams and payers to ensure quality outcomes.

Administers speech and language evaluations, tests, or examinations to diagnose and plan treatments for clients, patients, and residents with various speech problems and swallowing disorders. Assesses individuals with speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing problems and develops individualized treatment plans based on clinical diagnoses. Provides speech and language services, monitors disease progression, and adjusts treatments accordingly. Instructs clients and residents in therapeutic exercises and provides consultation throughout the treatment process. Ensures all standards, policies, protocols, and quality requirements related to speech and language are met. May treat individuals of all ages and varies diagnoses, demonstrating documentation in accordance with departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements. Demonstrates level of treatment associated with their specialty and follows accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organizations. Exhibits flexibility with variable work schedules/assignments, participates in departmental promotion, and collaborates with providers, case managers, third‑party payers, and public organizations. May supervise assistants, aides, and students, provide ongoing education and training to peers, and perform other duties as requested by management. May focus work in post‑acute, long‑term care, and home health care environments as applicable.
