Responsibilities

Seeking a dynamic, innovative, and highly experienced Permanent School Occupational Therapist to join our collaborative healthcare team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students by helping them achieve their highest potential. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and adolescents, possess excellent communication skills, and have a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges of students with disabilities. This full-time, permanent role is integral to our mission of providing comprehensive, high-quality care and education to our students.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of students' abilities and needs, with a focus on their academic performance, social and emotional development, and physical health.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized occupational therapy programs for students, aimed at improving their ability to perform daily activities and reach their educational goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the effective implementation of occupational therapy interventions.
• Provide guidance and training to school staff and families on how to support students' occupational therapy needs at school and at home.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential records of students' diagnoses, treatments, and progress.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in occupational therapy, and apply this knowledge to improve treatment strategies.
• Advocate for the inclusion and participation of students with disabilities in all school activities.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Current state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Minimum of 1 years of experience working as a SLP, preferably in a school setting is highly preferred, but will take new grads.
• Proven experience conducting assessments and evaluations, and developing and implementing effective occupational therapy interventions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt and modify therapy plans as needed.
• Knowledge of current laws and regulations relating to occupational therapy in schools.
• Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
• Proficiency in using computer software and technology for record keeping and communication.
