UC Health is hiring a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist for the first shift for the Speech and Hearing department at UC Medical Center.

The Speech-Language Pathologist will support West Chester Hospital’s rehabilitation services department, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care, and according to policy and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in speech language pathology.
  • Acute care experience preferred.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by ASHA or working toward certification.
  • Licensure by the State of Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • The speech-language pathologists (SLPs) provide a range of services to adults, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders. Responsibilities include:
  • Preparing, implementing, evaluating, revising, and coordinating an interdisciplinary plan of care for each patient within the standards of practice.
  • Communicating the plan of care to all involved staff and establishing care priorities based on patient assessments and needs.
  • Giving clear instructions to patients and families regarding treatment, involving them in assessment and care.
  • Responding appropriately to behavioral health, psychological, or cultural needs of patients.
  • Demonstrating critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and teamwork.
  • Maintaining personal professional development and contributing to colleagues' growth.
