Position Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist independently evaluates, determines treatment strategies, delivers, and/or delegates services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current State Speech/Language Pathology License (required CCC-SLP)
- BLS Certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
Requirements:
- Plans, implements, delivers, and delegates patient care by utilizing appropriate interventions and age-specific treatments through selected activities and exercises, revising treatment when needed, and instructing patients and families through verbal, written, and audiovisual materials as appropriate. Participates in discharge planning including recommendations to community resources to meet patient needs throughout the continuum of care.
- Documents all patient and professional interactions such as evaluations, assessments, progress toward goals, statistical reports, home exercise programs, recommendations, and discharge summaries to maintain continuity of care according to departmental standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinates time management of self and support personnel by organizing schedules to meet patient care needs, managing a patient load that reflects service standards, and collaborating with team members for assistance and coverage to meet patient outcomes and departmental goals. Supervises delegated responsibilities to support staff.
