Candidates must hold a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, pass the Praxis exam, complete a Clinical Fellowship Year, and hold a Michigan license with ASHA CCC. One year of clinical experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Successful completion of the National Praxis Examination.
  • Successful completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year.
  • One year of experience in a clinical setting required.
  • State of Michigan license; ASHA CCC

Responsibilities

  • Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient.
  • Educates and counsels patient and family regarding treatment plans.
  • Maintains clinical records and follows performance improvement recommendations.
  • Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from speech therapy services. Provides information regarding appropriate support programs.

Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Schedule: Contingent, At least one full weekend or two weekend days per month, Holidays (1-2 holidays per year), could also pick up additional days during the week,
Location: Henry Ford Genesys Hospital - Acute Care and Inpatient Rehab Department
Evaluates and treats patients requiring speech-language therapy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program;
  • Successful completion of the National Praxis Examination;
  • Successful completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year.
  • One year of experience in a clinical setting required.
Licensures And Certifications Required
  • The State of Michigan license; Certificate of Clinical Competence by ASHA
