The Rouse Estate is located on 600 acres in beautiful northwest Pennsylvania in Youngsville, PA, a short drive from neighboring communities of Warren, Corry and Titusville, PA and Jamestown, NY! What does a Rouse Per Diem SLP do?

  1. Communicates and coordinates ST functions with other disciplines in a constructive manner that helps build team effectiveness and cooperation.
  2. Communicates with DOR regarding department programs, goals, objectives, problems, and successes.
  3. Communicates with nursing staff and physicians regarding resident progress and problems as well as department programs.
  4. Promotes safe working environment and works to eliminate fire and safety hazards including broken or defective equipment and supplies.
  5. Participates in Care Plan, Department and Medicare Meetings as appropriate.
  6. Supervises support personnel (Restorative Aide, Rehab Aides) with respect to state laws and professional standards.
  7. Participates in educational in-services/programs regarding speech therapy to staff, residents, and the community at large.
  8. Orders supplies and equipment as necessary to maintain optimal resident care standards. Operates within facility guidelines for purchasing of equipment.
  9. Ensures cleanliness of department and facilities per infection control policies and procedures.
  10. Adheres to the policies and procedures of the Rouse-Warren County Home. Assists in the development, review, and implementation of policies and procedures as appropriate.
  11. Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of new or enhanced programs and services.
  12. Participates in facility/department QA programs as appropriate.
  13. May be requested to perform tasks not included in this job description from time to time.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

What are the requirements to be a Per Diem SLP at the Rouse?

  • Must be a graduate from a credited SLP program and be licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
