Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Spaulding Salem Outpatient Center for Children is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide per diem outpatient services in the afternoon. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and related disorders in pediatric patients.

The role requires a Master’s in Speech Therapy, state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and preferably CCC-SLP/CCC-A; at least 1 year outpatient

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech Therapy required
  • State license in Speech-Language Pathology required
  • CCC-SLP or CCC-A preferred
  • Minimum 1 year outpatient experience

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to identify speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
  • Implement treatment plans using various techniques and modalities.
  • Monitor and document patient progress; adjust plans as needed.
  • Educate patients and families about communication disorders and strategies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Job Summary

SLP Pediatrics Outpatient Per Diem Needed for Spaulding Salem Outpatient Center for Children

Afternoon coverage needed

Responsible to assess, diagnose, treat and help prevent speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, fluency and other related disorders.

Qualifications
Essential Functions
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
  • Implement treatment plans through a variety of techniques and modalities.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families about speech and language disorders, and provide strategies for improving communication.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

Master’s Degree Speech Therapy required

Speech-language Pathologist [State License] - required

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology [CCC-A] - American Speech Language Hearing Association preferred

Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] preferred

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology [CCC-SLP] - American Speech Language Hearing Association preferred

Experience

1+ year experience required

Outpatient experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Familiarity of diagnostic assessments for speech language.
  • Employee must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to incorporate new clinical procedures sufficiently to perform clinical services independently.
  • Ability to perform functions associated with contemporary audiology and speech-language pathology scope of practice.
  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Knowledge of state standards, federal and state regulations.
