Overview
Rome Health is rapidly expanding and we have a need to fill a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist for our inpatient acute care, sub-acute rehab/long term care and outpatient therapy. Optional weekend on call coverage for per diem.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' levels of speech or language difficulty through communication and standardized tests.
- Develop and carry out individualized treatment plans as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Assist patients in articulating sounds and improving voice quality.
- Work with patients to improve reading and writing skills.
- Develop and implement exercises to strengthen the muscles used in swallowing.
- Counsel patients and families on coping mechanisms for communication disorders.
- Maintain accurate records of patient evaluations, diagnoses, treatment progress, and changes in treatment plans.
- Complete final evaluations when patients finish therapy.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. (Required)
- Completion of a degree program associated with Speech-Language Pathology. (Required)
- 2-3 Years Of Experience Preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
New York State license for Speech-Language Pathology.
