Position:

Speech Pathologist/Therapist

Position Summary:

Functions under the supervision of the Supervisor of Physical Medicine. Responsible for a designated group of patients, providing speech and language evaluations and treatments per hospital and departmental policies, ensuring high-quality patient care. May also orient staff and students, and assume supervisory duties in the absence of the supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP/CF) and current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Effective communication skills with patients, families, and staff
  • Ability to evaluate, interpret information, and make independent decisions
  • Ability to respond promptly to pages
  • Ability to lift and transfer patients, exerting 50-100 pounds occasionally and 25-50 pounds frequently
  • Prolonged walking and standing
  • Sensory skills to differentiate clinical signs and symptoms
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, including emergencies
