Provide evaluation and treatment to patients of all ages with speech, language, cognitive-communicative, voice, and swallowing disorders. Practice in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team. Educate patients, families, and others. Direct and supervise support personnel. Manage technical, environmental, and financial resources effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities include:
- Assess speech, language, cognitive-communicative, voice, and swallowing skills according to organizational and professional guidelines.
- Create individually-tailored treatment plans that consider patients' age and situation, including discharge planning.
- Reassess patient status regularly and modify treatment plans based on progress towards goals.
- Document diagnostic findings and patient performance accurately and timely in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Prepare accurate billing reflecting care provided.
- Orient, train, and mentor students in Speech Language Pathology to meet performance expectations.
- Identify and act upon performance improvement opportunities to implement best practices.
- Complete additional departmental, organizational, or network activities as per established objectives.

Additional Responsibilities for Advanced Clinician, Clinical Specialist, and Advanced Clinical Specialist:
- Complete a minimum of 4, 7, or 10 initiatives from the clinical ladder application, respectively.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Communication Disorders from an ASHA-accredited program.
- Licensure in Speech Language Pathology by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (or eligible).
- BLS certification.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent, or completing Clinical Fellowship Year.
Experience:
- At least 2 years for Advanced Clinician.
- At least 5 years for Clinical Specialist.
- At least 10 years for Expert Clinician.
Skills:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Knowledge of speech-language evaluation and treatment techniques.
- Problem-solving skills considering patient's background.
- Ability to teach and perform self-assessment.
- Computer proficiency; Microsoft Office preferred.
- Flexible work schedule including evenings, holidays, weekends, and travel.
