Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. The role includes screening, evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge planning across multiple settings, with emphasis on collaboration and documentation.

Candidates will hold or be eligible for state licensure (MD, DC, or VA) and have ASHA CCC and CFY completion; a master's or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Clinical fellowship year (CFY) completed or in progress.
• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in MD, DC, or VA as required for location.
• American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence.

Responsibilities

• Provides evaluation services including historical review, assessments, and documentation of results; explains findings to patient and family; involves patient and family in goal setting.
• Implements treatment protocols based on evaluation findings and patient presentation, consulting with other professionals as needed.
• Completes discharge planning and follow-up; documents and bills for care; maintains a clear patient record.
• Manages scheduling and productivity; maintains professional access to care with empathy and adaptability.
• Mentors students and new staff; supports orientation and training as needed.
