Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to support our laryngology program. You will participate in diagnostic clinics and outpatient services, with travel to Chagrin Minoff, Avon, and Cleveland required.

The role organizes and conducts Speech-Language Pathology services to facilitate the habilitation or rehabilitation of individuals with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing needs.

Job description

This is a voice focused Speech-Language Pathologist position, as it will be supporting our Laryngologist. You will be participating in our diagnostic clinics along with our outpatient services. Travel will be required to support the following locations: Chagrin Minoff, Avon, and Cleveland.

A Brief Overview

Organizes and conducts Speech-Language Pathology services to facilitate the (re)habilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities. The Speech-Language Pathologist directs the patient's participation in selected activities/treatments to promote and/or maintain good health and communication.

What You Will Do

• Organizes and conducts the Speech-Language Pathology plan of care to facilitate the habilitation or rehabilitation of people with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing disabilities.
• Directs patient participation in selected activities to establish, enhance, and restore speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing abilities.
• Performs evaluation(s), develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient’s rehabilitation needs within the care continuum, initiates and participates in the discharge planning process.
• Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention.
• Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to, documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc.
