Primary Purpose:To assist Alief ISD schools in providing consistent procedures and standards in the referral, coordination, disability identification process for students referred to special education, and to support the social, emotional, and academic well-being of students with disabilities, and to assist Alief ISD schools in maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements of both state and federal guidelines.

Supervisory Responsibilities
You may be asked to provide mentorship and/or supervision to a licensed SLP assistant or speech pathologist clinical fellow (CF). Mentor fellow therapists when assigned.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Speech-Language Pathologist.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used : Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals
Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

2024-2025 Salary Range Min. $64,188 Mid. $76,656 Max. $89,122 (Based on previous experience)
2025-2026 Salary schedule with 3% of midpoint increase approved by the Board. Salary schedule soon to be released.
