Job summary

North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Speech and Language Pathologist at Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center in Wilson, NC. The SLP will work on an interdisciplinary team to facilitate communication and swallowing safety, provide evaluation and treatment, and maintain documentation.

Applicants must be licensed as an SLP/Audiologist. The role requires collaboration, adaptability, and comfort with a range of clinical presentations in a SNF setting.

Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of and skill in the application of professional speech and language theory, techniques, principles, and procedures.
• Familiarity with augmentative communication systems designed to develop functional communication.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well within a team of professionals and adapt to change.
• Experience with individuals with psychiatric and/or developmental conditions is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation, direct treatment, and program planning for patients.
• Deliver in-service training and consult with staff to ensure service integration.
• Maintain required records and documentation for services rendered.
