Job summary

Santa Monica Healthcare Center in Oakland, CA is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Under physician direction you will develop care plans, administer tests, provide therapy, document records, supervise aides, and ensure privacy compliance.

A Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and a current CA license are required; one year of experience is

Qualifications

MS in Speech Language Pathology required.
Current state license in Speech Therapy required.
Clinical competency certification.
One year clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Screens and evaluates residents and develops appropriate care plans.
Under a physician’s direction, provides direct patient treatment based on established plan of care.
Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative function.
Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
Instructs residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and practice new skills.
Completes required forms and documents in accordance with policy and regulations.
Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
Devises special tools and treatments for patient needs.
