Job summary

Harborview Medical Center’s Harborview Rehab Therapies team is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist 1 to deliver evaluation and treatment for patients with communication and swallowing disorders. The position is full-time, day shift, located in Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities include assessments, planning and administration of therapy, with collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care. Licensure, ASHA CCC, and state credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the State of Washington as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders or equivalent degree approved by the ASHA.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, direct and administer speech-language pathology evaluation and intervention to patients with communication and swallowing disorders as referred by a licensed provider.
• Administer treatments as determined by the evaluation to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury.
• Assist patients to reach maximum performance and function within their capabilities.
• Develop clinical programs for optimum patient care and service.
• Participate in department operations, performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Contribute input in budgeting and evaluation of departmental performance; act to stay within budget guidelines.
• Ensure patient charges and documentation are accurate and entered promptly.
• Participate in infection control, equipment training, compliance, safety and educational programs at department and organizational levels.
