Job summary

ADAPT MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL SERVICES seeks a Speech Therapist to evaluate and treat patients, helping them rehabilitate and regain independence in daily living skills. Duties include assessment, treatment planning, home-based therapy, progress monitoring, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role requires a Master’s in Speech Language Pathology, NY licensure, and experience with individuals who have developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
• Two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
• Current NY State license in Speech Language Pathology.
• IPSIDD approval preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts tests to evaluate speech and language status and analyzes results for treatment planning.
• Develops a treatment plan and goals based on assessment.
• Provides therapy in the person’s home or other settings through collaboration with families and staff.
• Implements testing procedures to monitor progress and reports results to management.
• Assesses oral motor development and oral intake; develops appropriate treatment plans.
• Maintains current knowledge of alternative communication techniques and applies them as needed.
• Ensures services meet regulatory requirements and documents activities in patient records.
• Completes all required documentation timely and accurately.
• Maintains a minimum caseload of 10 individuals (about 4 hours of therapy).
• Performs other related duties as requested.
