Work Schedule/FLSA Status: Negotiated agreement / Exempt
Salary Schedule:
- 2024/25: Step 1 with a Master's Degree: $57,050 + 10% variance ($5,705) = $62,755
- 2025/26: Step 1 with a Master's Degree: $57,820 + 10% variance ($5,782) = $63,602
Salary credit may be awarded for applicable experience. Placement on the salary schedule will follow the applicable negotiated agreement.
Position Purpose: Screen and assess students for communication disorders as per Rule 51. Design, implement, and document services for identified students. Collaborate with students, parents, staff, and IEP team members to deliver services that support student progress in the curriculum/environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Master's degree in Speech Pathology required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain NE Teaching Certificate with Speech-Language Pathology endorsement (preferred).
- Ability to obtain and maintain NE DHHS Speech-Language Pathologist license (preferred).
- Ability to obtain and maintain CCC in Speech-Language Pathology (preferred). Clinical fellowship supervision provided if needed.
- Ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively.
- Experience with Augmentative Communication Devices and AAC evaluations (preferred).
- Excellent attendance record.
- Professional verification of performance and/or externship experience.
- Commitment to ethical and professional standards.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Knowledge of current educational methods, laws, and policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and student information systems.
Essential Performance Responsibilities:
- Plan and guide student learning to meet IEP goals.
- Continuously assess and report student progress.
- Maintain compliance with all special education procedures and documentation.
- Collaborate with educators and service providers.
- Provide accommodations and ensure their implementation.
- Utilize AAC devices and conduct evaluations.
- Develop and implement assessments and intervention strategies.
- Promote positive self-esteem and social-emotional development.
- Complete FBA and BIP as needed.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Establish positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Engage in professional development and research.
- Participate in meetings and district initiatives.
- Adhere to district and state ethical standards.
Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Equipment: Use assistive technology and standard office equipment, adhering to OPS guidelines.
Travel: Limited travel may be required.

Terms of Employment: Full-time exempt position governed by state laws, policies, and collective bargaining agreements if applicable.
Contingencies:
- Valid Nebraska Teaching License or equivalent.
- Acceptable background check.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Completion of TB test if required.
- Signed employment contract.
