Job summary

Sanford Health seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat clients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. You will diagnose, plan treatment, and supervise assistants as needed.

You’ll work in a team-based, patient-centered environment across post-acute, long-term care, and home health settings. Licensure in state(s) is required; CCC-SLP preferred; BLS within 60 days; a valid driver’s license may be needed.

Qualifications

  • Education level required per state licensure.
  • Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • CCC-SLP from ASHA or CFY in progress where applicable.
  • May require valid driver’s license.
  • Maintains required department competencies and certifications.
  • BLS for healthcare providers required or within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides speech and language services to clients; monitors progression and adjusts treatments.
  • Instructs patients in exercises; offers consultation on treatment processes.
  • Ensures compliance with standards, policies, and quality requirements.
  • Treats individuals of all ages with varying diagnoses.
  • Documents per guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrates flexibility with variable schedules/assignments.
  • Participates in activities to promote the department and Sanford Health.
  • Interacts with providers, case managers, payers, and public organizations.
  • May supervise assistants, aides, and students.
  • Provides ongoing education and training to peers.
  • Performs other duties as requested by manager.
  • Work may focus on post-acute, long-term care and home health environments.

Education

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
CCC-SLP or CFY in progress
