Job summary

The Speech Language Pathologist I at Baylor Scott & White Health plans and provides speech language pathology services, including evaluation, treatment, and education programs to restore speech, language, and swallowing abilities.

Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients per the treatment plan, documenting in the medical record, collaborating with families and the care team, supervising students and fellows, and pursuing ongoing education to uphold high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Clinical Fellowship Year.
• Must possess excellent social relation skills including oral and written communication.
• Demonstrates aptitude in assigned clinical areas as specified for each clinician.
• Exhibits cooperation and leadership with the healthcare team and provides excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients within the speech pathology treatment plan.
• Performs timely clinical documentation and knows reimbursement related to practice setting.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and the medical care team.
• Supervises students and clinical fellows; follows supervision guidelines.
• Advances clinical skills through ongoing education and evidence-based practice.
