Speech Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP) AVH Inpatient Rehab

This position is anticipated to be filled towards the end of 2025 as part of the expansion of Acute Inpatient Rehab at Allegheny Valley.

The expansion will create a consolidated unit of 29 inpatient rehabilitation beds at AVH and will be equipped with advanced equipment and technologies to support cutting-edge rehabilitation care.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Evaluates and treats patients with injuries or diseases which result in loss or impairment of speech, language, voice, cognitive and/or swallowing function; supervises work performed by support personnel; effectively communicates and collaborates with patients, families and members of the healthcare team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition and establishes goals and plan of care, which are appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.

Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard and possibly specialized speech therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.

Completes documentation to comply with department, hospital, and regulatory standards.

Participates in departmental initiatives for operational improvement, including committees and educational offerings.

Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

Master’s Degree or equivalent

Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist

CPR – American Heart Association

Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
