Job summary

Arc Broward seeks a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for an ESE Preschool program. This part-time role is approximately 20 hours per week, with a schedule Monday–Friday 9:30 am–1:30 pm, based on Broward County instructional days.

You will support SLP-led services for preschoolers, implement therapy activities, collect progress data, and prepare materials for intervention. Florida SLPA certification and background screenings are required.

Qualifications

• Florida State SLPA Certification is required.
• Experience with children or individuals with varying exceptionalities is preferred.
• Criminal background screening, employment physical, and drug screening must be passed.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of speech-language pathology services to preschool children under supervision of licensed SLP.
• Implement delegated intervention activities addressing receptive/expressive language, articulation, vocabulary, social and functional communication.
• Conduct data collection on designated goals and report progress to supervising SLP.
• Prepare and organize therapy materials and visual supports for individualized intervention.

Essential Job Functions/Duties:

The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant supports the delivery of quality speech, language, and communication services to preschool children, as delegated by and under the supervision of the licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. Responsibilities include:

• Implementing delegated speech and language intervention activities to support children's receptive language, expressive language, speech sound production, vocabulary, social communication, and functional communication skills.
• Carrying out established treatment plans and individualized therapy activities designed by the supervising SLP.
• Facilitating engaging, developmentally appropriate, play-based communication activities for individual children and small groups.
• Collecting data on designated treatment goals, documenting services provided, and reporting student responses and progress to the supervising SLP.
• Preparing and organizing therapy materials, visual supports, and communication resources to support individualized intervention.
