Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist at Canton-Potsdam Hospital to assess, treat, and manage care for patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders. The role emphasizes diagnostic and therapeutic services aligned with ASHA and NYS standards, with weekend rotation in inpatient care.

The position involves 37.5 hours per week, day shifts, and on-call duties; collaboration with physicians and care teams to maximize patient communication and swallowing

Qualifications

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders required.
New York State licensure or eligible for Clinical Fellowship year.
BLS certification either current or to be completed within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Completes speech and language therapy evaluations to establish treatment plans and home programs.
Administers treatment plans applying speech and language therapy techniques.
Monitors progress and updates treatment plans to meet patient goals and provides discharge planning.
Completes modified barium swallow studies within the hospital setting.
Consults with physicians and other health care professionals regarding treatments and outcomes.
Participates in education and training as applicable.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
