Speech-Language Pathologist
Location: Rock Hall, MD 21661
School Year: 2025-2026
AnthroMed Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Rock Hall, MD, for the upcoming school year. This is a full-time position primarily serving secondary-level students, with additional responsibilities at the elementary level. The SLP will support students with life skills needs and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), playing a crucial role in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
This position is available due to a recent SLP retirement, creating an additional need within the district. The anticipated caseload is approximately 40-45 students.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy services to students, focusing primarily on the secondary level.
- Support students with life skills needs and AAC devices, implementing effective communication strategies.
- Push into classrooms and provide coaching to staff and parents to enhance student support.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in line with IEP goals.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and participate in IEP meetings.
- Complete required documentation, including IEP writing, progress reports, and MA billing.
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, occupational therapists, and other staff to support student success.
- Engage in Assistive Technology (AT) implementation and express a willingness to learn more about its application in speech therapy.
- Participate in monthly professional development (2 hours contractually required).
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Maryland SLP License and CCC-SLP certification.
- Experience with AAC devices or a strong willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of life skills programming and ability to adapt therapy techniques accordingly.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills for IEP writing, MA billing, and progress reporting.
- Passion for coaching and training staff and parents to support students' communication needs.
Work Schedule
- 2 contractually required hours of professional development per month
