Responsibilities
  • Assess, provide therapy, collaborate with school personnel, develop educational goals, and facilitate the IEP process.
  • Implement the requirements of IDEA, RTI, and provide inclusionary and individualized services for students with disabilities.
  • Conduct progress monitoring related to all IEP goals/objectives (at least 2 data points per goal each week), document in the student’s special education file, and use data to adjust teaching and inform reports.
  • Work with administrators to stay informed of major changes in student behavior or academics. Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain positive communication with teachers, students, and parents/guardians. Document all communications in EasyIEP contacts.
  • Support and manage para-professionals responsibly.
  • Handle TennCare reimbursements.
Qualifications
  • Masters degree with CCC-SLP; Clinical Fellows considered.
  • Experience with various disabilities, communication disorders, augmentative communication systems, and assistive devices. Willingness to learn new programs and methods.
  • Commitment to high academic achievement and high expectations for students.
  • Effective communication skills and positive teamwork attitude.
  • Openness to coaching and feedback for professional growth.
  • At least 2 years of successful professional experience.
  • Endorsement Codes: 498 and/or 458.
  • High standards, professionalism, and integrity.
Compensation

Salary based on education and experience. The position may be eligible for additional compensation through the Differentiated Compensation Plan. Details at https://www.hcde.org/staff/human_resources/differentiated_compensation.
