Job summary

Central Public Schools in Minnesota is seeking a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time long-term substitute position from January 2027 through May 2027. The SLP will deliver direct and consultative speech-language services within a collaborative special education team in a K-12 setting, supporting students’ communication needs alongside teachers and families.

POSITION: Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist – Long-Term Substitute
WORK DAY/YEAR: Full-time, 1.0 FTE

Central Public Schools is seeking a student-centeredSpeech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve in a full-time, long-term substitute position from approximately January through May 2027.

Position Responsibilities

The Speech-Language Pathologist will:

• Provide direct and indirect speech and language services to students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Assess and evaluate students' communication skills and needs.
• Develop appropriate goals, objectives, interventions, and service recommendations.
• Monitor student progress and adjust services based on student needs and data.
• Complete required special education documentation, progress reports, evaluations, and other due-process responsibilities.
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluation meetings, and other student support meetings.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, paraprofessionals, administrators, families, and other service providers.
• Provide consultation and strategies to staff and families to support students' communication skills across school environments.
• Maintain accurate student records and comply with district, state, and federal special education requirements.
• Support a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
• Perform other duties consistent with the role of a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist.

Qualifications

Required:

• Appropriate Minnesota licensure to provide Speech-Language Pathologist services in a public school setting.
• Ability to provide speech and language services and fulfill special education due-process responsibilities.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

• Previous experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school setting.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
• Experience working with students with a wide range of communication needs.
• Knowledge of special education evaluation, eligibility, progress monitoring, and due-process requirements.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
