Job summary

Adept Nursing & Rehab of Waverly is seeking a compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our interdisciplinary team in a skilled nursing facility. You will evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, and develop individualized plans to restore communication and independence.

The role offers PRN shifts in a supportive environment with opportunities for growth and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and therapists.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
• CCC-SLP certification preferred or Clinical Fellow welcome to apply.
• Experience in skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation, or geriatric setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in residents.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician orders.
• Provide therapy to residents recovering from stroke or neurological conditions.
• Assess and manage dysphagia and recommend dietary modifications.
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records per guidelines.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, PT/OT and other team members.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy techniques and plans.
• Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to patient-centered outcomes.
