Get to Know Your Team:

  • Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services, and more.

Responsibilities

  • The Speech Pathologist evaluates and treats patients requiring speech-language therapy.
  • Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient
  • Educate and counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans
  • Maintain clinical records and follow performance improvement recommendations
  • Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from speech therapy services. Provide information regarding appropriate support programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Current Speech-Language Pathology license from the Texas Department of State Health Services
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of SLP experience
