Job Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) work as a contractor for New Hope Treatment Center will provide speech and language services to residents ages 12–18 who are enrolled in private school within the residential treatment facility. The SLP will screen, evaluate, and treat students with communication disorders; develop and implement individualized goals; and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support educational access and progress.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Screening and Evaluation:
  • Conduct speech-language screenings and comprehensive evaluations.
  • Select and administer appropriate standardized and non-standardized assessment tools.
  • Analyze results and interpret data to determine eligibility for speech-language services.
  • Prepare evaluation reports and present findings at eligibility and IEP meetings.
  • Therapy and Intervention:
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans to address articulation, language, fluency, voice, pragmatic, and AAC needs.
  • Provide direct, indirect, and consultative speech-language services to eligible students.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data and team input.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment notes, progress monitoring, service logs, and Medicaid billing, as applicable.
  • Participate in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Service Plans in collaboration with team members.
  • Collaboration and Consultation:
  • Collaborate with parents, residential facility staff, special education teams, and outside providers to support student needs.
  • Provide consultation and training to staff on communication strategies and accommodations.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary and PRTF team meetings and problem-solving sessions.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Valid South Carolina SLP license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
  • Experience working in school, private, or residential settings preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
