How You’ll Make an Impact

You’ll provide individualized speech-language services that support students’ access to learning and participation in school. You will:

• Understand each student’s needs. Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations to identify communication needs and inform recommendations for specialized services.

• Make findings meaningful. Share evaluation results with parents and district personnel through clear, compassionate communication and practical recommendations.

• Connect therapy to educational goals. Collaborate with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team to develop targeted, evidence-based interventions that support communication, learning, and participation.

• Provide individualized services. Deliver direct speech-language therapy or supervise licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs), as assigned and consistent with Texas supervision requirements.

• Use data to guide services. Maintain accurate records, monitor student progress, and use findings to adjust interventions and inform ongoing service planning.

• Advocate and collaborate. Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions to support students’ needs and special education programs.

What You’ll Bring

• A master’s degree or higher from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.

• An active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license.

• An ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).

• Bilingual skills are preferred, but not required.
