Job summary

Prestige Care Center of Plattsmouth is seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house rehabilitation team at our Plattsmouth, NE location. This PRN/Part-Time role offers a consistent need for 25–30 hours per week, with responsibilities including evaluation, plan development, and delivery of evidence-based speech therapy services for residents.

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted Speech-Language Pathologist license in the State of Nebraska.
  • Meets all educational and certification requirements for state licensure.
  • Current CPR certification (preferred).
  • Valid driver\'s license.
  • Knowledge of skilled nursing regulations, documentation requirements, and Medicare guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and resident needs.
  • Provide evidence-based speech therapy services that promote communication, cognitive function, and safe swallowing.
  • Accurately document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with state, federal, and payer guidelines.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapy colleagues, residents, and families to ensure coordinated care and successful outcomes.
  • Educate residents, caregivers, and staff on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment.
  • Comply with ASHA standards of practice, state regulations, and facility policies.
