Job summary

TransPerfect Health in Newport News, VA seeks a Speech Therapist to deliver patient-centered care in Senior Living and Skilled Nursing settings. You will screen, evaluate, and treat residents, while documenting and coordinating care with the Rehabilitation Director.

The role emphasizes clinical judgment, adherence to OBRA guidelines, and infection control, with opportunities for mentorship, on-boarding, and licensure reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Current or eligible Speech Therapy license in the state of practice.
• Graduate of an accredited speech therapy program.
• ASHA accreditation or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Conduct screenings, evaluations, assessments, and treatments in accordance with state practice acts, plan of care, and company policies.
• Help optimize functional independence and quality of life for aging population.
• Accurately complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
• Participate in orientations, staff meetings, and in-service education.
• Collaborate with the Director of Rehabilitation to develop robust therapy programs.
• Follow infection control procedures and OBRA Resident Rights Guidelines.
• Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and prioritize patient care.
• Support compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Perform duties that may involve moderate to heavy physical demands.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
